Dr. Andrea Lagna

Dr. Andrea Lagna (he/him) is a Senior Lecturer in Financial Technology (FinTech) at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), University of Manchester. He is a member of AMBS’ Centre for Financial Technology Studies (CFTS) and Innovate Finance’s UK FinTech Academic Network. With over a decade of academic experience across international institutions like Loughborough University and UC San Diego, he brings a global perspective to his research and teaching. Andrea’s expertise lies at the intersection of Information Systems and Political Economy. Using an interdisciplinary approach, his research sheds light on the complex interplay between technology and finance, exploring topics such as fintech-led financial inclusion, AI as a strategic fintech resource, and the environmental implications of data-driven AI.
