The Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, comes into force later this month. It places a mandatory duty on employers to take reasonable steps to actively prevent workplace sexual harassment. The legislation will give employment tribunals the power to increase compensation payouts in sexual harassment cases where the employer is found to have breached the new duty.
