On 11 May, UHY Manchester’s Chief Executive Officer, David Kendrick and Corporate Finance Partner, Peter Williams, successfully completed the ROC Challenge, surpassing their fundraising target by raising over £22,000 for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The hospital, which is the largest and busiest children’s hospital in the UK and renowned for its exceptional patient care, has significantly impacted families across the North West, including several colleagues at the UHY Manchester firm.

These funds will be going towards a vital project named ‘CREW (Creativity, Resilience, Enablement and Wellbeing)’ which will be held at Galaxy House. Galaxy House, a growing service within the hospital, provides care for young people under 18 dealing with physical and emotional issues. The Crew Project aims to deliver weekly creative projects, incorporating music therapy and video aspects to help young people throughout their treatment.

David Kendrick, Chief Executive Officer commented, “We are thrilled that the hard work has paid off and the money we have raised will contribute towards such an important project at Galaxy House. Bring on the Christmas concert where we will get to see first-hand the impact of our funds!”

Peter Williams, Corporate Finance Partner said, “The implementation of creative projects will massively help those going through treatment. We are immensely proud that our funds will be going towards The Crew Project. Taking on the gruelling challenge was definitely worth it, and we hope to make a positive impact on young people’s lives.”

Manchester Foundation Trust Charity raises funds for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust’s family of ten Greater Manchester hospitals and their associated services, including Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Donations to the charity support projects across the ten hospitals including state of the art equipment, life-saving research and improved care initiatives like The Crew Project.

Michelle White, Relationship Manager at Manchester Foundation Trust Charity says:
“We are very grateful to David and Peter for taking on such a gruelling challenge to support The Crew Project at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Their commitment and hard work has raised a huge amount of money, the impact of which will make a significant difference to the lives of the young people who access the service.”
