Truth Creative selects The Rivers Trust as first of two pro bono charity clients

The Rivers Trust has been chosen as the first of two new pro bono clients by Truth Creative.

Darren Scott, co-founder and creative director of the Manchester-based integrated design, marketing and branding agency, decided that 30 percent of the agency’s time during the coronavirus crisis will be donated to supporting worthy causes.

A social media search resulted in a successful application by The Rivers Trust and Truth will now support its work in promoting and improving the health of the waterways in the UK and Ireland, with only 14 percent of rivers currently attaining “good ecological status”.

The Rivers Trust is the umbrella organisation for 60 local member Trusts, the only group of environmental charities in the UK and Ireland, dedicated to protecting and improving river environments for the benefit of people and wildlife.

Now being devised but still to be made public, Truth’s work for The Rivers Trust will include a social media campaign targeting potential supporters in improving the ecological state of the nation’s rivers, including anglers, paddlers and swimmers. Other support will include design, typography and illustrations, and potentially some branding work.

“We were keen to do something positive during this difficult time and The Rivers Trust is a fantastic fit for Truth Creative, providing us with an opportunity to support a worthy cause with an incredibly important goal,” Darren said.

“Our work for existing clients will of course continue but like everyone else, we’ve not been able to progress some projects due to the impact of coronavirus and wanted to use the studio time we had available in the best possible way. The Truth team really believes in the work being done by The Rivers Trust and we can’t wait to get started on their behalf.”

The response to Truth Creative’s social media search for two pro bono clients attracted huge interest. Another new pro bono client is in the final stages of selection and will be confirmed next week.

A spokesman for The Rivers Trust said: “We were absolutely delighted that Truth were offering to help charities like ourselves. We need nature more than ever now and we are hoping this beautiful work that Truth has created, will help us gain new supporters so we can continue to protect and improve rivers. We are very excited to share the campaign in the coming months!”
