Rodo, the Manchester-based decorating accessories, clothing and PPE producer, has appointed branding agency Truth Creative to support the brand relaunch of its Blackrock Workwear and PPE range.
The Manchester branding agency’s work for Rodo will help to raise the profile of Blackrock products in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
The core target audiences for the Blackrock brand includes builders merchants, PPE distributors and corporate uniform wearers – including builders and other trades people – who buy their own equipment.
Truth’s work for the Blackrock relaunch includes market research, branding, packaging design, motion design/animation, photography, design for print, web design and build, and CGI.
Headquartered in Droylsden, Manchester, privately-owned Rodo has been trading for more than 90 years.
Clothing and PPE is a growing offer for Rodo, with clothing and PPE ranges in five core categories: Blackrock footwear, safety footwear, gloves, high visibility clothing and other PPE (masks, ear defence and eye protection).
Blackrock was initially launched in 2005 as a full PPE brand, distributed primarily in builders’ merchants and to some uniform/corporate clothing customers.
Jo Scott, managing partner and co-founder of Manchester-based Truth Creative, said: “Rodo wanted Truth’s support to improve the perception of the Blackrock brand among professional users and distributors to a level that reflects product quality.
“Our work will now support Rodo in achieving the improved market share its products deserve.”
Gary Bent, Marketing Manager at Rodo, said: “We’d worked with Truth Creative on several previous branding and packaging projects and they’d hit the mark each time, so we had no hesitation in approaching them with this project.
“Blackrock now has a new, stronger and more industrial identity that better reflects what the brand stands for – exactly what we were looking for – and feedback on our completely overhauled packaging and online presence has been wholly positive from both existing and new customers.”
Rodo is a longstanding client for Truth, who previously designed the branding and packaging for its ProDec and Fit for the Job ranges.
