TLT receives Gold award for commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion

TLT has received a Gold award for its commitment to being an LGBTQ+ inclusive employer.
The award is part of LGBTQ+ equality charity Stonewall’s Bring yourself to work campaign, which highlights the importance of inclusive work environments, especially given how big a part of someone’s life their work and working environment and relationships can be.
Independent verification is a key part of TLT’s approach to ensuring that it is achieving a gold standard in LGBTQ+ inclusion. In the last year, it has launched a trans and non-binary policy and continued to grow and promote its LGBTQ+ network known as LGBTLT+, as well as running a comprehensive programme of awareness campaigns and events including a Pride breakfast.
The LGBTQ+ network is one of several affinity groups at TLT, which are endorsed and supported by the senior leadership team and help bring issues to the management table that might not otherwise have been raised. It also acts as a useful sounding board for employees within the network.
Peter Richards-Gaskin co-chair of LGBTLT+, says: “We spend a lot of our lives working, so it’s important that workplaces embrace and celebrate people’s differences and allow people to bring their whole authentic selves to the office, real or virtual, including their sexuality.
“We work hard to go above and beyond expectations when it comes to inclusion at TLT, so it’s really important to have this verified externally, and even better to have achieved a gold award.
“We’re in the middle of a campaign highlighting LGBTQ+ heroes in celebration of LGBT History Month at the moment, and I’m excited for what more we can do to ensure that TLT remains a welcoming and inclusive place to work as we shift to a fully flexible model of working.”
