TLT has been nominated for UK Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2021.

The awards, now in their 12th year and hosted by Law.com International, represent the best of the UK’s legal community.

While the judges received a record-breaking number of submissions this year, TLT made the shortlist by demonstrating the significant progress made by the firm over the past 12-18 months and highlighting its position a leading UK firm.

TLT recently reported an 11% increase in turnover to £110m following a decade of rapid growth and launched its ambitious new strategy targeting turnover in excess of £140m by 2025.

In 2020, the firm agreed its first formal strategic alliances with Netherlands firm Holla Advocaten and Belgium firm GSJ advocaten to strengthen how it supports clients internationally and, as part of its new four-year strategy, plans to accelerate the development of its UK offer and its wider international network.

Despite the challenges of the past year, TLT has demonstrated its strength and resilience by winning a re-appointment to the Sainsbury’s legal panel and securing roles on the Vodafone legal panel and UK government’s newly established trade law panel.

The firm also advised on landmark client matters including a £197m fundraise and multiple brand acquisitions for Boohoo, a US$239m debt judgment for IDBI Bank, and a multi-million pound funding by Santander UK for the construction and operation of what is anticipated to be the largest battery storage plant in Europe.

TLT also recently announced a significant, long-term shift in its working practices to create a fully flexible and inclusive work environment which puts it amongst the legal industry’s most progressive firms.

John Wood, managing partner at TLT, says:

“Our nomination for UK Law Firm of the Year is testament to the hard work of everyone at the firm and celebrates the significant achievements we have made at TLT over the last 18 months.

“Breaking the £100m revenue mark was a significant step forward in our journey of continued and sustainable growth and, with our new strategy and long-term shift to flexible working, we will focus on looking ahead and continue to deliver an outstanding service for our clients.”

The winners will be announced on 17th November 2021 at an event in London Hilton on Park Lane, hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald OBE.
