TLT launches eighth employment law podcast episode on unconscious bias
2nd October 2020, 1:00 pm
UK law firm TLT has launched the eighth episode of its popular employment law podcast, Employment Law Focus.
The episode looks at the growing issue of unconscious bias and what employers can do to ensure that this doesn’t become a legal issue.
Jonathan Rennie, partner and one of the speakers on the episode, says: “Unconscious bias can stand in the way of equality, diversity and inclusion, so it’s important for employers to know what it is and how it can affect people’s decisions about candidates and colleagues.”
“The legal issues are becoming a lot clearer,” he continues, “so we wanted to explain how this can present itself and importantly, how the employment tribunals will look at these cases. We explain some of the models you can use, some recent case law and share our thoughts and advice.”
Employment Law Focus is a Top 10 business podcast on Apple and has received more than 4,000 downloads to date. In each episode, a panel of experts from TLT’s UK-wide employment team discuss some of the most challenging issues facing employers and HR teams today.
Previous episodes include burnout and workplace stress; flexible and agile working; GDPR and access requests; sexual harassment at work; whistleblowing; and philosophical beliefs.
You can listen to the podcast now via the TLT website or on your favourite app.
