Productivity at heart of Marsland House transformation by CubicWorks

• The refurbishment is the latest major project secured by contracting business CubicWorks, which specialises in construction, refurbishment and fit-out services

CubicWorks, a leading construction, fit-out and refurbishment contractor business, has kickstarted the transformation of Marsland House in Sale, a Bruntwood Works office space, as it aims to enhance productivity and wellbeing for the businesses and their employees based there.

The refurbishment will provide new communal areas throughout the building and transform the main reception into a striking new entrance area, creating a welcoming and collaborative space for customers. Further stand-out features will include the installation of a leafy ‘welcome wall’ art feature in the main reception to enhance the arrival experience, complemented by comfortable seating areas and ambient lighting.

The project follows increased demand from businesses for local offices, alongside their city centre workspaces, with more companies seeking a hub and spoke solution that incorporates a city centre HQ and a geographically distributed network of offices in the surrounding suburbs.

It complements the recently refurbished first floor which features an exposed scheme, with the ceiling and fixtures stripped back to provide a modern, industrial look and add additional ceiling height – the first space of its kind in Sale.

The transformation at Marsland House will bring a sense of nature into the space through biophilic design. The use of biophilia in the workplace is known to bring a host of wellbeing benefits including increased productivity, better air quality and reduced stress.

There will also be an extensive upgrade of the lift lobbies, corridors, and facilities throughout the building.

Marsland House is set in the desirable town of Sale, Greater Manchester, opposite Brooklands Metrolink Station. It provides businesses with high-quality, flexible workspaces that have direct access to Manchester city centre and the surrounding suburbs by car and public transport, with the journey time by Metrolink tram taking less than 15 minutes to the city centre.

It is already home to a broad range of businesses that are attracted to the quality and flexibility of the workspaces available, including Jarvis Insolvency, Stackhouse Poland and Röhlig Logistics. The building includes larger leased spaces, suitable for businesses of all sizes, from scale-ups to large enterprises, that want the flexibility of planning and managing their own office.

This is the latest major project by CubicWorks after the specialist contractor business was launched by Bruntwood in October 2020. The business adopts a consultative and partnership-led approach to deliver end-to-end project management and has recently completed the ground-floor refurbishment of Trafford House in Old Trafford.
