Operational update – Piccadilly trams

21st October 2022, 3:33 pm

I am getting in touch to update you regarding upcoming essential Metrolink track replacement works at Piccadilly Gardens and a temporary change to some Metrolink services in the run-up to these works. As you may be aware, TfGM were planning to carry out essential track replacement work at Piccadilly Gardens from 23 – 30 October 2022.

Due to an issue with Metrolink’s rail supplier, these works have had to be delayed and are now expected to be carried out towards the end of November 2022.  As a result of this delay, and to ensure the continued and safe operation of services in the run-up to the works, there will a temporary change to some Metrolink services from Monday 24 October, until the Piccadilly Gardens works can take place towards the end of November 2022.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, the supplier issue is outside of our control, and we will be doing everything we can to minimise disruption to customer journeys.

This will be communicated through TfGM and Metrolink social media posts as well as posters, public information displays, public announcements, and support staff on Metrolink stops and services. A press release has been published here: https://news.tfgm.com/news
