North West law firm signs sponsorship deal with Wigan Warriors

North West law firm Brabners has agreed a new sponsorship deal with rugby league team Wigan Warriors.
The two-season deal sees Brabners become the exclusive legal adviser to the Betfred Super League team.
The contract will run to the end of the 2022 season, having officially begun with the restart of the 2020 competition.
As part of the agreement, Wigan will produce social media content promoting the partnership and the Brabners logo will appear in matchday programmes, on the Wigan Warriors website and on LED perimeter signage during games at the team’s home ground – the 25,000-seater DW Stadium.
Lydia Edgar, head of the sport sector at Brabners, said: “Forging this new relationship is an important step as we continue to expand our rugby portfolio. Wigan Warriors is one of the world’s most famous rugby clubs and counting an organisation of its calibre as a client demonstrates the sporting pedigree Brabners has built over the years.
“The rugby season starting up again has been great news but has still meant clubs having to operate under very strange and sometimes difficult conditions. With no fans in the stadiums to generate revenue and a whole raft of new health and safety procedures to consider, it is a challenging time for the teams and our focus is on helping to guide Wigan through this unfamiliar territory.”
Wigan Warriors’ executive director Kris Radlinski, who made more than 300 appearances for the club in his 13-year playing career, said: “Restarting the season has been such a boost to morale with the players itching to get back out on the pitch all through lockdown. But undoubtedly this is an uncertain time for the sport given we have no firm date for when the fans will be allowed back in the stands.
“Brabners has a proven track record of advising some of the biggest names in sport and having this level of experience at our side will, no doubt, be invaluable as we navigate through this period.”
Brabners’ sports law practice is ranked in the Legal 500’s top tier and advises a wide range of major sporting franchises, national governing bodies and international federations.
