Manchester-based B2B marketing consultancy Start Communication has hired former Head of Business Marketing at The Growth Company, Vicky Daly, as its Client Services Director.

In her role, Vicky will oversee the delivery of marketing and communications projects for Start’s new clients, which have to date included the Ethical Supply Chain Program, Envair Technology, Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity, Manchester Metropolitan University, Verastar and gunnercooke. Vicky brings 21 years of marketing and PR experience, having previously worked at agencies in Manchester and London.

Start Communication provides strategic marketing support to regional, national and international organisations. It also connects in-house and agency marketing teams with specialist freelance and independent partners, creating bespoke teams that meet the requirements of specific campaigns. The consultancy currently works with a network of 50+ experienced practitioners, including digital specialists, designers, copywriters and consultants.

Rachel Chesters, Managing Director at Start Communication, said: “The businesses we work with are grappling with a range of marketing challenges. They may need a marketer with a very specific niche or skillset, or require support to deliver an urgent project or campaign. Or they might be looking for that strategic layer of expertise, to help with the marketing planning process or develop additional marketing and comms capabilities. Many businesses are now turning to freelancers and other partners for support, alongside more traditional agencies.

“We work with our clients to help them bridge these gaps, providing our expert advice and sourcing and managing the right partners to help see their project through successfully. I’m delighted to have Vicky on board; with her wealth of experience she will play an essential role in delivering strategic results for our clients.”

Vicky Daly added: “I’m thrilled to be working with Rachel and the wider Start team at such an exciting time for the business. The model has huge potential, particularly in delivering value for businesses, and I’m looking forward to helping to drive Start’s ambitious plans for growth.”
