National managed print service provider Midshire® is thrilled to announce that on Friday 14th December its staff embraced the festive spirit and donated over 30 gifts to the Cash for Kids’ ‘Mission Christmas’ toy appeal.
Over £350 was raised from a staff Christmas jumper day and used to buy children’s games and toys, with the aim to provide children from underprivileged or disadvantaged backgrounds with a gift on Christmas Day.
Based across 22 areas in the UK, Cash for Kids helps children aged between 0-18 who are disabled, deprived, or suffering from abuse or neglect with specialist equipment, or by providing financial grants to UK children’s charities.
Sales Director at Midshire, Nick Rose was a key figure in organising the day, he says: “Christmas has such a big build up, particularly for young children who get excited at the thought of Santa bringing them a present. Many of us at Midshire are parents, and the thought of our kids looking forward to Christmas morning and having nothing to open is heart breaking, that’s why we all got behind this appeal.”
Unfortunately 1 in 4 families, or 30 per cent of UK children live below the breadline and fall into this bracket.
Staff at Midshire bought toys and gifts suitable for all ages, ranging from Lego, rag dolls, and the infamous Pie Face board game for young children, to Lynx set toiletries, make-up sets and remote control drones for teenagers.
Nick concludes: “Often when you donate to charity you don’t really know exactly where your money is going or who you are helping, but this appeal is different, we have peace of mind in knowing our gifts will help put a smile on a child’s face on Christmas Day.”
Last year Cash for Kids raised a whopping £23 million, enabling them to support 709,000 UK children.
