Midshire staff support Charity Christmas Tree Collection

National managed print service provider Midshire® is thrilled to announce five of its Stockport-based staff have helped to raise an estimated £24,000 for St Ann’s Hospice during JustHelping’s 2019 Christmas tree collection event. The total amount raised was £28,500 with around £4,500 also being donated to local charities as nominated by the collection volunteers.
With 34 collections taking place after the twelfth night in January nationally, volunteers from hundreds of partner organisations assisted JustHelping and their local hospice to collect and recycle over 33,200 real Christmas trees from households, in exchange for a small financial donation to support local charities.
Founded in 2012, JustHelping aims to inspire and encourage people, businesses, and charities to volunteer and support their local communities.
Iain Tittle, Trustee at JustHelping says: “Obviously millions of people take part in charitable work every year, the larger more widely known charities benefit immensely.
“The beauty of what we do at JustHelping is that it encourages people to get involved with smaller charities and hospices in their own communities, which helps charities that often run the risk of being forgotten.”
Midshire’s staff took part in this year’s campaign to raise money for St Ann’s Hospice, a charity that provides free care services to thousands of people with life limiting illnesses in Greater Manchester, as well as offering support to carers and relatives.
Senior Sales Executive Daniel Bridgeman who spearheaded Midshire’s involvement says: “Initiatives like this not only help raise vital funds for those most in need, but also help with recycling the trees that would just get thrown into landfill. More specifically, we were supporting St Ann’s Hospice this year, which only receives a third of its yearly financial targets from the NHS, so donations from campaigns like this are crucial for it to continue its vital work.”
Iain concludes: “Midshire’s support was invaluable this year, they have helped us grow the charity and raise so much more money than we have in years previous, I can’t thank them enough.”
As part of Midshire’s parent company Sharp Business Systems UK’s larger CSR strategy, Daniel was able to utilise a day of the organisation’s new ‘Employee Volunteering Programme’ to support the JustHelping campaign.
