  • Introduce yourself

I’m Tom Martin, Employee Benefits Consultant at Mattioli Woods. After graduating from the University of East Anglia in 2012 with a degree in Business Management, I have built a career in pensions and employee benefits over the last 12 years, becoming a qualified financial planner along the way.

I specialise in pensions and all aspects of employee benefits, assisting clients in providing a comprehensive benefits package for their employees. I’m involved in supporting international clients with their UK employee benefits and responsible for consulting SME clients to ensure benefit packages represent a bespoke and engaging solution. I am an advocate of promoting financial wellbeing, especially encouraging engagement with the younger generations. I sit on the pro-manchester Wellbeing Champions Committee as a way of passing on my passion for financial wellbeing.

  • Career highlight

In 2022, I achieved the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the Chartered Insurance Institute. This prestigious certification has developed my ability as a strategic financial planner and I have transferred these skills to effectively support my corporate clients.

  • Name three words that describe your personality

Determined, approachable and authentic.

  • What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

The events and the committees. The fantastic team at pro-manchester never fails to host a great event. Both the hospitality and the content are always spot on.

I find being a member of the Wellbeing Champions Committee really rewarding. I feel that contributing in this setting is giving something back to the amazing community within the network.

  • What are your priorities for 2025?

2025 is going to be a year of continued focus on growing recognition and reach of the Mattioli Woods brand within the Manchester business community. As a business based in the heart of the city, we want to build our profile to support businesses in the area.

  • What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

Manchester is an exciting place to be at the moment. The city continues to grow, with development everywhere you look. The investment in the city is attracting a high calibre of business to the region. This can only be advantageous for the fantastic collaboration I’m seeing in this brilliant business community.

  • Favourite meeting place in Manchester

Anywhere that services good coffee! There are plenty of independent coffee shops to try out around the city.

  • Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

Mattioli Woods offers a range of services within employee benefits. We are able to assist any type and size of business and are looking to work with businesses who want to develop a robust employee benefits strategy to align with their overall business objectives. I’m always happy to meet for an initial discussion, so please get in touch if you feel we could help your business in any way.
