- Introduce yourself
I’m Rob Parry. I’ve been a qualified Chartered Accountant for over 30 years. I’m head of Quantuma’s Manchester office and a specialist in expert witness and expert determination work in financial disputes, many involving company transactions and/or shareholder disputes.
- Career highlight
Definitely the last five years at Quantuma. The firm is unrecognisable in scale and reach from 2019, having grown organically, then with backing from K3 Capital Group in 2020 and latterly Sun Capital from 2023, but the collaborative culture instilled by our founder, Carl Jackson, still carries on. Our growing Manchester office is now well established with great people.
- Name three words that describe your personality
Pragmatic, diligent, caring
- What’s the best thing about pro-manchester
I’ve always found pro-manchester membership a great asset in promoting new businesses. Most of my clients are lawyers, so pro-manchester has provided opportunities to meet non-lawyers who have become unexpected wider business contacts.
- What are your priorities for 2024
We’re shortly moving offices, and setting up the Manchester K3 Capital Group hub, so I really want the different businesses within K3 to increase local interaction to become more than the sum of the parts in what we can do to help clients across the Group.
- What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
I have pride in being part of a city that fosters diversity in every sense. By being renowned for our inclusivity, we will attract high quality talent from around the UK and overseas that will enhance prosperity. Anything that goes against that disappoints me.
- Favourite meeting place in Manchester
On the streets – some of my most successful introductions and networking has been achieved bumping into people “on the hoof”.
- Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet
Any company involved in a financial dispute, such as shareholder fallout, M&A dispute or contract breach. Any business feeling an economic pinch and suffering some form of distress that would benefit from restructuring advice. Any shareholders or company that feels they could benefit from our group’s extensive business sales capability. We also have a substantial database of actively acquisitive businesses in the UK and can act with speed and efficiency in identifying suitable acquirers.
