1. Introduce yourself
Hi hello! I’m Kerry, I am the Regional Business Development Manager at The Alchemist. I look after all three of our gorgeous Manchester venues along with our grade II listed venue in Liverpool.
2. Career highlight
A highlight for me is probably the first time I was nominated for a Manchester Hoteliers Association award. At the time I was in my first commercial role and sadly I didn’t win. However, the impact on being recognised by my peers and having the feeling of ‘Okay I’m pretty good at this’ being a real boost to my confidence which was well needed at the time.
3. Name three words that describe your personality
Punchy, Intentional and Inquisitive.
4. What’s the best thing about pro-manchester
Hand on heart – the Pro-Manchester team! They have always been sensational to work with, mindful and intentional in all that they do and overall fantastic human beings. We wouldn’t have the opportunity to attend brilliant events, meet great new connections and hear from industry leaders without them.
5. What are your priorities for 2024
Sustainability in the hospitality world is always paramount, especially in the current climate where we are seeing guests be more intentional with both their corporate and leisure spends. However, my priority is always to showcase our beautiful venues! So, expanding our client base is key and ensuring our return guests feel seen and valued by us always.
6. What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
Broadly – new openings! We can never overlook the impact a new hotel, restaurant, arena or office building has on the immediate area. One new hotel opening could reinvigorate the livelihood of bars or restaurants surrounding who many have been forgotten about or overlooked. Co-Op Live being a huge notable for the city, we’ve felt the positive effects in mid-week trade their shows have brought to the city and I am sure others have too.
7. Favourite meeting place in Manchester
I’m going to bypass the usual self-nominations here as there are so many incredible venues in our city. I have too many favourites! My fail safe if I ever need to head offsite for a meeting is Haunt on Peter’s street. Great coffee, delicious pastries the size of your head, lovely team and most importantly when the time is right they serve up some lovely classic cocktails!
8. Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet
I’m lucky that everyone eats and drinks so I’m keen to meet EVERYONE! However I’d love to meet more event bookers, personal assistants, members of social committee’s and network leaders!
