Member Spotlight: Joe Higson, Business Development Manager – Travel Counsellors

1. Introduce yourself

Hi! I’m Joe from Travel Counsellors for Business. I am a Business Development Manager and my focus is on supporting new and existing clients who travel domestically and internationally with their travel requirements. Aside from business travel I am a keen runner and an extremely average golfer!

2. Career highlight

Every November Travel Counsellors host one the largest UK travel conferences. Over two thousand guests and suppliers are in attendance during the course of a weekend and I was lucky enough to support a colleague with hosting the event. 2000+ pairs of eyes looking back at you is daunting, but a highlight none the less!

Curious. Helpful. Relaxed.

4. What’s the best thing about pro-manchester

PM is a well known and connected business development organisation. It helps us reach new organisations in multiple sectors, who are enthusiastic about engaging with new businesses too. It’s great for networking.

5. What are your priorities for 2024

Travel Counsellors for Business are seeing vast growth at the moment and we want to continue that through connections made through Pro-Manchester. We are interested in speaking with businesses that have a need for domestic and international travel, that are looking for a unique approach to their travel provision.

6. What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

Manchester always has something to offer. It’s been that way for decades. Northern Gateway Project; Transport and Infrastructure Developments; Northern Tech Scene to name just a few. People want a part of what Manchester has to offer.

8. Are their any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet

We would love to talk to business who have a need for domestic and international business travel. We can definitely offer something suitable for businesses of all sizes
