- Introduce yourself
Hi, I’m Bee, the heart and soul behind Tosimba-By-Bee. Growing up, my fondest memories were in the kitchen, surrounded by the rich aromas of African and Caribbean dishes lovingly prepared by my family. Food wasn’t just about eating; it was about connection, storytelling, and community. These experiences sparked my passion for cooking and inspired me to share those flavors and stories with the world.
With over 20 years of experience in HR, I’ve combined my professional background with my love for food to create something truly unique. At Tosimba-By-Bee, we use food as a universal language to bring people together. Whether it’s through a delicious meal, a hands-on workshop, or a conversation over a shared plate, I believe food has the power to foster belonging, understanding, and cultural awareness.
The name “Tosimba” means “Let’s Get Stronger” in Shona, and that’s exactly what I aim to do, bring strength to communities and connections through the warmth of my culinary heritage. Beyond catering for corporate events, private gatherings, and celebrations, I also work with schools and communities, delivering workshops and talks that celebrate diversity and encourage cultural learning. From teaching kids about the history of a dish to hosting discussions about inclusion, I love seeing how food and stories can inspire curiosity and bring people closer.
If you’re looking for authentic African-Caribbean flavors or a meaningful way to engage your team, school, or community, I’d love to help make your event unforgettable. Let’s create something special together, because food isn’t just about eating, it’s about connecting, inspiring, and growing stronger.
- Career highlight
With extensive experience in HR across healthcare, education, private sector, small businesses, charities, and churches, I have successfully led HR projects, developed policies, and managed complex employee relations. My key roles include HR Consultant, HR Manager, and HR Advisor. I specialise in employment law, leadership development, change management, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. I am passionate about fostering inclusive workplaces and ensuring equity in employment practices.
Driven by my passion for cultural diversity and storytelling, I founded Tosimba by Bee, combining food and education to celebrate African heritage. Through catering, workshops, and events, I promote cultural awareness and inclusivity.
Whether in HR or cultural initiatives, my goal remains the same, to empower, educate, and connect people while championing diversity and inclusion

For me, the best thing about Pro-Manchester is the sense of belonging and collaboration it fosters. It’s more than just a business network, it’s a community of inspiring people who genuinely support each other’s growth.
As someone who is passionate about culture, food, and storytelling, Pro-Manchester has given me a platform to connect with professionals who appreciate diverse perspectives. I love the engaging conversations, the fresh opportunities, and the feeling that I’m surrounded by people who truly want to see each other succeed. Plus, the events always have such a great vibe!
- What are your priorities for 2025
My priorities for 2025 are all about growth, impact, and connection!
Expanding Tosimba-By-Bee – I want to bring my passion for food, culture, and storytelling to even more schools, businesses, and communities, creating meaningful experiences that celebrate diversity.
Building Stronger Collaborations – Whether it’s through Pro-Manchester, corporate partnerships, or educational institutions, I aim to work with organisations that align with my mission of inclusion and cultural appreciation.
Balancing Business & Family – As a single mum of two, I want to continue being present for my boys while growing my business, setting an example of resilience and passion.
Empowering Others – Whether it’s through workshops, mentorship, or collaborations, I want to uplift and inspire more people, especially women and working parents, to embrace their own journeys.
- What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
Cultural & Community Growth – Manchester continues to be a hub for diversity, inclusion, and storytelling. Events celebrating heritage, food, and identity are creating more opportunities for collaboration and cultural appreciation, something I’m passionate about through Tosimba-By-Bee.
Thriving Business & Entrepreneurship Scene – The city is full of innovative startups, independent businesses, and networking platforms like Pro-Manchester, making it an exciting time for entrepreneurs looking to grow and connect.
Sporting Excellence & Youth Development – From Manchester United and City to grassroots sports, the city’s commitment to nurturing young athletes (including my own boys!) continues to be a major focus. Initiatives supporting youth sports and development are creating pathways for future stars.
Regeneration & Infrastructure – There are so many exciting development projects happening across the city, from new business districts to sustainability initiatives, making Manchester an even better place to live and work.
Focus on Wellbeing & Inclusion – Conversations around mental health, work-life balance, and community support are becoming stronger, ensuring businesses and organisations are prioritising people, not just profits, something I deeply value in my work with workplaces and communities.
Manchester is a city that’s constantly evolving, and I love being part of its energy, culture, and forward-thinking spirit!
