Mediaworks, one of the UK’s largest independent digital marketing agencies, has promoted two of its long-standing directors to senior positions.
Andrew Blenkinsop has been promoted from the group’s strategy director to chief strategy officer, taking a place on the organisation’s executive board. At the same time Dr David Norris moves from performance marketing director to group operations director.
Andrew, who has been with Mediaworks for seven years, will lead strategic implementation across the group, working closely with group marketing director, Chris Coulson and newly appointed commercial operations director, Rosie Hebblethwaite.
Meanwhile, Dr Norris, who arrived at Mediaworks three years ago from his position as associate dean at Teesside University’ Business School, will now spearhead the quality delivery of Mediaworks’ digital marketing services across SEO, performance marketing, paid media, content and digital PR.
Brett Jacobson, founder and group CEO at Mediaworks, said: “Both Andrew and David have consistently proven themselves as outstanding leaders in the business. Their new positions reflect the esteem I hold for them personally but also reflect their immeasurable contributions in transforming us into one of the largest and best performing independent agencies in the UK.
“There appears to be a widening gap of independent marketing agencies who can capably think, do and measure in a cohesive manner. Andrew’s development of the elevated levels of strategic thinking that now fuels our ability to successfully execute and transparently measure against client’s commercial goals has been a crucial factor in our success.
“David’s feats in performance marketing are no less impressive in the last three years. It makes perfect business sense for us to widen his remit to take overall control of operational outputs across the group and its five offices. I’m enormously excited to see what both can achieve in their new roles at Mediaworks.”
Mediaworks, founded in 2007 by Jacobson, has doubled its headcount to 200 in the last 18 months and is aiming to double that again before the end of 2024. In the last three years alone, the agency has opened operations in Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester and Dublin.
Mediaworks counts the likes of Cath Kidston, Metro Bank and The R&A among its client base, delivering a range of services across SEO, PPC, web design, brand, content and digital PR.
