Manchester law firm announces key promotions as it continues to grow strongly

Ward Hadaway, a leading North West law firm, has announced a total of 19 promotions across the firm with four of those – including a partner appointment – within its fast-growing Manchester office. The team is continuing to expand, growing by 12% in the last 12 months.

As part of its commitment to providing a culture where employees can develop professionally and personally, the firm is really pleased to announce the promotion of Catharine Busby to partner in the Healthcare team. Catharine is a highly skilled solicitor with over 16 years’ experience of civil, coronial and inquest law. Throughout her career, she’s represented NHS Trusts, Mental Health Trusts, Care Homes and Private healthcare providers. She also has extensive experience of representing clients who operate prisons or provide healthcare services within prisons / immigration removal centres as well as those providing escorting and custody services, forensic medical services, patient transport services and GP out of hours medical services.

Victoria Parker, who works in the same team, has become a managing associate. Victoria joined the firm as an associate nearly three years ago and has been instrumental in advising NHS clients especially in respect of mental capacity, best interests and deprivation of liberty issues.

Ward Hadaway’s regulatory and built environment teams has also seen promotions. Fameeda Shafiq, an experienced regulatory lawyer with particular expertise in professional discipline and court of protection matters, has become a managing associate. Rachel Garcia, who acts on behalf of leading residential developers dealing with all aspects of plot sales, is now an associate.
