First images of new bar, restaurant and social workspace ‘junction’ revealed

The first CGI images of the hotly anticipated new bar and restaurant concept opening at Manchester Central later this year have finally been released.

Opening in Spring 2024, Junction will be a brand new bar, restaurant, cafe and social workspace and will be open to the public as well as delegates attending events at the iconic city centre venue.

Designed by Up North Architects as a place to eat, drink, meet or relax, and with fit out by Rische Group, Junction will welcome everyone visiting, living and working in the city. Open for coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner, the venue will also provide a new, unique workspace for freelance or remote workers.

The CGI design concepts unveil industrial curved architecture reflecting the history of the former railway station which closed to passengers in 1969, with floor to ceiling windows providing a vista out to the city.

Soft colour palettes of dusky peaches, sage greens and stone will flow throughout the venue to provide a calming, relaxed daytime environment which transforms in natural light to an intimate, warm atmosphere for evening cocktails.

The entrance to Junction will be situated on the podium steps leading up to Manchester Central, with a second internal entrance for delegates visiting events.

Shaun Hinds, CEO at Manchester Central, said, “We are extremely excited to open Junction in the Spring. This is set to be an incredible space that will be open to everyone, all day, every day.

“It will be a place to game-plan the day with great coffee in the morning, catch up on emails at lunch, make connections with new contacts, and meet friends over cocktails and small plates in the evening.”

“We don’t think there is anything like this on this side of the city, and we know it will be a huge boost to this area.”
