On the 3rd of July, The Midland Hotel held The Business Desk’s 2024 North West Rainmaker Awards, where Dow Schofield Watts was shortlisted for six nominations.
Of the win, Cat commented, “I set the business up 15 and a half years ago. I know we don’t look old enough, but we decided that we wanted to disrupt the market in terms of big four accountancy firms offering due diligence, and we did quite well”.
The Corporate Finance team also secured a win, taking home the Medium Deal of the Year (£10m to £50m) award, which recognised their work on Waterland’s investment in Cumbria Waste Group. Partner Greg Pendlington accepted the award alongside members from the other advisors involved in the deal.
Waterland Private Equity acquired a majority stake in Cumbria Waste Group, the largest waste disposal and recycling service provider in Cumbria, where they plan to invest in the organisation’s infrastructure and operations. DSW Corporate Finance in the North West acted as lead adviser in the investment alongside teams at Pinsent Masons, Hill Dickinson LLP, and DWF.
It was also great to see Corporate Finance Director Dan Walker presenting the Rising Star of the Year Award to winner Ryan Browne of Browne Jacobson.
Congratulations to Catriona and the DSW Corporate Finance team!
