From local talent to an international star of the comedy, variety or musical circuit, you name it you’ll definitely see it at The Vanishing Cabaret.
With the success of the debut show on Thursday 11th July well underway, less than 10 tickets remaining, dates for the follow-up shows have just been announced with the show returning on Thursday 8th August and 11th September plus more to be announced. There are some exciting offers with the show including discounts on tickets bought in pairs and the home of VC, Alston Bar & Beef, are offering 20% off the à la carte menu for ticket buyers.
But why start The Vanishing Cabaret?
Returning from their sell-out Edinburgh Fringe debut 3 years ago Manchester based Calvert and Fitton noticed a distinct lack of live entertainment options in Manchester. They decided to create something new, something Manchester, something magical. After recruiting a third performer, Joel Dickinson, and finding the perfect venue, the 1837 Bar Manchester, they finally had the winning formula for the perfect night. Be it date night, an evening with friends or an excuse to escape for a few hours, The Vanishing Cabaret is an awe-inspiring, fun filled evening for all.
Each host brings a different style, set of skills and experience to the show which complement each other in order to produce gasp-worthy feats of wonder.
Swapping his stethoscope for the stage, Mancunian Aaron Calvert left his life as a doctor and has never looked back. Specialising in extraordinary feats of mind reading and hypnotism, last year Aaron sprung onto our TV screens hypnotising a couple to completely forget each other in the Channel 4 special ‘Hello Stranger’. Most recently taking to the skies to hypnotise Thomas Cook Airlines passengers at 30,000 feet, Aaron’s unusual talents and sensational showman have made his stunts and sell-out live shows across the country a must watch. ‘Mesmerising, thrilling & mildly disturbing – in the best possible way.’ ★★★★★ Voice Magazine
Manchester magician Sam Fitton is a national award winning performer. From sell-out, 5 star shows at the Edinburgh Fringe to gigs in the Seychelles, Sam has performed for celebrity guests including Colleen & Wayne Rooney, dazzled David De Gea and James May and even entertained guests at Richard Branson’s Kasbah Birthday Party! Sam knows the stage, he knows magic and he knows jaw-dropping entertainment. His cheeky demeanour and incredible sleight of hand have made him one of the most sort after magicians in the UK. Co-writer and director for Aaron’s TV and live shows the two together are a tour de force in psychological entertainment. ‘Ethereal tricks & awesome stunts fall effortlessly from his hands.’ The Wee Review.
Joel Dickinson, once the magician of a castle (true story), is a professional street busker turned stage performer. Since taking his well-honed act from the streets of Manchester to stage he’s found ever growing success in the new domain. Winning a variety of awards, including North West Close Up and Stage Magic Championships, he is the first honorary fool of Muncaster Castle since Tom Fool himself. Joel performs astonishing feats of the impossible harvested from over 20 years’ experience.
