Deadline Extended for Active Travel Grants

TfGM are extending the deadline for grants to support active travel for employees from 27th August to 10th September.

Grants are available to support SMEs and other organisations across Greater Manchester to enable and encourage active travel for employees, customers and visitors.

With more people taking up cycling during pandemic, 55 miles of new cycling and walking routes being delivered by the end of 2021 through the Bee Network, and public cycle hire coming soon too, the opportunity to help embed active travel across the city-region has never been greater.

Grants to support active travel for employees (Grant 1)

If you’re a SME in Greater Manchester, you may be eligible for a Department of Transport grant to support active travel for employees at your business. Grants can be used for interventions such as cycle parking, pool bikes and changing or storage solutions.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available for small to medium sized businesses, with fewer than 250 staff who are based in Greater Manchester.

To make an application, please complete and submit the application form before 5pm on 10 September.

Grants for cycle parking facilities (Grant 2)

Expressions of interest are also invited for a further round of grants to deliver a range of cycle parking facilities for businesses and organisations located within 400m of eligible Bee Network schemes.

These include:

•Grants of up to £2,000 to install visitor parking – eligible for businesses and organisations with no more than 20 staff at the application site.

•Grants of up to £10,000 for NHS, housing associations and schools.
