CLARKE WILLMOTT APPOINTS NEW PROPERTY SERVICES MANAGING DIRECTOR
Leading national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director for its Property Services Division.
Partner and current head of the firm’s Social Housing Sector, Kary Withers, has taken over the role from Graham McIntyre after he stepped down at the end of last month to focus on growing the firm’s Real Estate sector and further developing the Property Litigation team.
Kary joined Clarke Willmott in 2005 and has been part of the tier-one rated Property Litigation team since its inception. Having worked her way up from Associate to Equity Partner in the firm, Kary successfully developed a leading telecoms practice and became team manager for a decade before becoming Social Housing Sector Head in 2017.
Clarke Willmott CEO, Stephen Rosser, said: “Kary has led the Social Housing sector to its current success; over the last three years our client list has continued to grow and our sector turnover has increased by more than 20%.
“Kary has developed strong working relationships with all teams integral to the sector including Property Development and Regeneration, Construction, Housing Management and Home Sales, and has close working relationships with Planning as a Property Litigation Partner.
“Outgoing MD Graham McIntyre will be focussing on more client and business development activity with a specific priority being the reinvigoration of the Real Estate sector. He also holds key client account partner positions, to which he is keen to give increased attention.
“Kary and Graham have worked closely together for many years which will aid in creating a seamless transition.
“These relationships and the experience Kary has gained in nearly 15 years at Clarke Willmott make her exceptionally qualified for the Property Services MD role.”
Her current role will be taken on by Vicky Kells and Lindsay Felstead, both Partners, who will jointly lead the firm’s Social Housing sector.
Vicky Kells has over 20 years’ experience and is Clarke Willmott’s national head of Social Housing finance while Lindsay Felstead has worked in the sector for 18 years as national head of Housing Management.
Kary said: “It has been an absolutely pleasure to have led such a great team for the past three years. Huge congratulations to Vicky and Lindsay who will take over my role, they have great plans for the next chapter which I know will continue to go from strength to strength.
“Both are already heavily involved in decision making as part of the firm’s Social Housing management team and both have extensive sector experience working with a host of industry-leading clients.
“I am delighted to be taking on the role of MD of Property Services and will continue to support the sector.
“We have a national reputation which I’m looking forward to expanding upon and hope to continue Graham’s great work in establishing Clarke Willmott as a leading Property Services firm.”
Clarke Willmott LLP is a national law firm with seven offices across the country, including Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton.
