Clarke Carlisle joins Its Mental as Chief Operating Officer

9th September 2024, 8:05 am

We are delighted to announce that Clarke Carlisle has officially joined the It’s Mental Team as Chief Operating Officer in August 2024. He has been a treasured Ambassador of Its Mental for the last 2 years and solely believes in our mission to help 1 million people self-manage their Mental Health and Physical Wellbeing.

For Its Mental and the team to make a real difference within communities throughout the UK we need people onboard with the same purpose, passion and motivation to achieve what others just think about. We are serious and focused to deliver preventative services to relieve pressure from Mental Health Public Services and guide people through life challenges and adversity.

Stephen Robinson said, “Clarke is a great asset for us. His wealth of experience will help us scale and deliver processes that will safeguard and future proof our services.”

“Clarke will also be driving our key research projects over the next few years in relation to Creating Positive and Preventative Culture in Companies and organisations across the UK. Instead of the current reactive approach to Workplace Wellbeing”.

Clarke statement, “I am so excited to join It’s Mental and become a part of this dynamic, forward thinking team, that is transforming the wellbeing landscape in the UK, which is now prominent among in the Northwest, my home region!

There are two main reasons why I’m delighted to take the role. Firstly, having worked on a number of projects with Stephen and the team over the last two years, I have witnessed the extraordinary impact of their work, driving the prevention narrative in a new, holistic way. Having lived through crisis and disaster recovery, I don’t want other people and their families to live through the same. That’s why I want to promote wellness before it gets there!

Secondly, after working in this sector for over 10 years now, I have seen much ‘snake-oil’, people and organisations chasing the pound instead of prioritising people. It’s Mental (and all the people in the team) are person-centred, purpose driven and solution focussed, values that align perfectly with my own!

The work has already begun! Look out for our preventative solutions being delivered in your community!”

We are launching the Directors Wellbeing Forum in Manchester on the 12th September 2024.

This was piloted in March 2024 at Its Mental Live and was a great success with over 50 C-Suite and Directors attending.

Being a director or part of the C-suite can be a challenging and lonely position, the responsibilities and pressures can be substantial.

We whole-heartedly believe that leaders need to embrace the oxygen mask approach when it comes to your personal Mental Health and Physical wellbeing.

We are also pleased to announce the Launch The Wellbeing Collective in Manchester on Friday 13th September 2024.

Our Wellbeing Collectives provide communities with connected care and expertise. A therapist can’t support you with your finances, your financial advisor can’t help you with your chronic back pain, your physio can’t help you write your will, your will writer can’t help you with spiritual advancement and growth….what usually happens is that a practitioner will solve ‘their’ challenge, and then throw a client back out into the ocean to find answers to any other challenges that they have.

Clarke said, “In our Wellbeing Collectives, every aspect of mental and physical wellbeing is encompassed within the group, who commit to testing, sharing and supporting each others’ work”.

“The outcome? Any client who comes to one member of the Collective isn’t just accessing ‘a service’, they are stepping into a 30-fold pool of services that all share our preventative values at It’s Mental. Any challenges identified that fall beyond the remit of the initial member are deliberately passed on to a TWC associate who can help address it.”

Clarke states. “Client sharing of the highest order that provides comprehensive support for our communities in need”.

Clarke and Carrie Carlisle will also be the face of Its Mental live Lancashire 2024.

Clarke adds, “I don’t think it’s any coincidence that our first Live event is in my hometown, Preston! It is so exciting to be a part of something that will directly impact (and hopefully transform!) the community where most of my family still lives, the town that I was privileged to play for, and the place where my heart resides. The event is split over two days for a reason, separating ‘work’ and ‘life’ in a way that we want to encourage all to do, and enable them to do it. Come and explore a new, positive and preventative way with us, this October.”
