Bee More Dutch! Learn with expert colleagues from the Dutch Cycling Embassy and partners
3rd November 2021, 11:08 am
As you all know, 2021 is our ‘Year of Delivery’ in the development of the Greater Manchester Active Travel Network with the largest investment in the UK outside of London. With over 200 people working on the programme, we want to focus on the continuous improvement in our project delivery with a particular focus on getting the details right of engaging communities. This is needed throughout the lifecycle of project including the development, delivery, and final completion of these projects so they become part of everyday life for as many people as possible as we transition to a sustainable transport system – Destination Bee Network.
To help with this, we’ve been offered a very exciting opportunity by our colleagues at the Dutch Embassy in the UK – they’ve linked us up with experts from the Dutch cycling world who will share the benefit of their experience and knowledge across a morning of training for us in Greater Manchester. Alongside GM colleagues, they’ll be tailoring three workshops on aspects of the Bee Network to the requirements of those who are attending.
The event will take place on the Dutch Embassy’s events portal, with opportunities for networking with the experts and each other. The link to sign up for the event will be circulated on 2nd November. We’d like to ask all participants to set up a profile within the portal well ahead of the event to get the most out of the networking. However, you can do so just before the start too. The profile should include what you hope to learn from the session and what you can bring to it – this will enable the presenters to tailor the sessions to their audience, and for all attendees to be able to see who they need to speak to or get in touch with after the event. The portal will remain available after the session so that you can log in and watch the workshops you weren’t able to attend on the day and see the networking info; colleagues who aren’t able to attend can also access the sessions by logging in after the event.
Agenda

We look forward to seeing many of you at this exciting event – please feel free to forward the calendar invite to colleagues or request more invites from [email protected]. On 2nd November the booking link will be sent to everyone who’s requested it and you can sign up any time until the event; however, to give our Dutch colleagues the opportunity to prepare as effectively as possible, we’d be very pleased if you could sign up quickly once the portal opens for registration.
Any questions, please email [email protected]
We look forward to seeing you on 16th November!
