Member Spotlight: Cerys Jones, Employer Partnerships Manager – Manchester Metropolitan University
Tuesday, 11th May 2021Each week we get to know one of our members a little better and find our what they’ve been up to during lockdown. This week it’s Cerys Jones, Employer Partnerships Manager – Manchester Metropolitan University…
Hi all! I’m Cerys Jones and I started as the Employer Partnerships Manager at Manchester Metropolitan University about 3 months ago. I develop partnerships with businesses to generate opportunities across all sectors and professions. I also oversee all employer engagement activities carried out by the various teams within the Careers & Employability Service.
- Career highlight
The nature of our work is extremely rewarding, so there are a few career highlights for me. We help students and graduates find employment opportunities whilst helping businesses to find new talent. Seeing graduates flourish in a role and supporting a business to grow is always a highlight.
- Why do you love pro-manchester?
There’s so much to get involved in, so many different organisations to collaborate with and it’s just a great way to connect. I’m looking forward to attending the face-to-face networking events over summer as the lockdown restrictions start to ease.
- What are you watching at the moment?
‘This is us’ on Amazon Prime. It makes you laugh and cry so get the tissues ready.
- Favourite meeting place in Manchester
Ezra and Gil – the best brunch around!
- Favourite lockdown activity
I never thought I would enjoy decorating but I painted a few rooms during lockdown. It was therapeutic putting my headphones in, listening to a podcast and zoning out for a while.
- Most creative thing you’ve seen on a video call during the lockdown
A zoom treasure hunt.
- What are you looking forward to doing again the most after lockdown?
Travelling – I’m hoping my first holiday will be Santorini, fingers crossed!
