Meet our future-pro Committee Chair’s

Monday, 22nd July 2024

Last Thursday we hosted our annual future-pro Summer Social over at Ramona in celebration of our Chair handover.

Here’s what they had to say…

Nick Shepherd, future-pro Outgoing Chair & Business Development Manager at The Growth Company

“It has been a privilege to chair the future-pro board over the past year, leading the committee driving opportunities for the next generation of young professionals to connect, learn and socialise. I am proud to see our committee take charge of leading on the development of educational sessions within networking, finance and career development whilst having fun along the way. A highlight of my year of tenureship will always be the MiMA’s where we celebrated the success of Manchester’s emerging talent whilst raising record donations at £5795.99 for a charity close to my heart, St. Ann’s Hospice.

future-pro has provided me with personal development opportunities over the past 3 years and I would recommend getting involved to anybody looking to elevate their own career. I want to wish Herbie the best of luck over the next year as he transitions into committee chair and welcome Nancy to an incredible role as vice chair of future-pro.”

Herbie Hursthouse, future-pro Chair & Assistant Management Accountant at Together

“It is an honour to take over the role as Chairman of Future pro, from the very capable Nick Shepherd. I am ready and looking forward to leading the team into the future. I want to focus on growing our social media presence. Promoting awareness of all the hard work that we put in at future pro, alongside our excellent range of events, which have amazing turnouts. We aim to build professional and Friendly relationships between people across the North west and help people to learn and grow. I hope to retain our current level of utility for attendees and keep pushing the group to bigger audiences.

I have a real passion for networking and think it’s one of the most valuable habits that anyone could get their selves into. One of the best ways to network is by attending events, which I believe leaves us with a duty and responsibility to make sure that ours are the best that they can be.

I’m really look forward to the challenging and hopefully rewarding moments that are yet to come for me, the team and all of our attendees. ”

Nancy Brand, future-pro Vice Chair and Business Development Executive at Sharp

“I’m thrilled to be taking on the role of Vice Chair for the Future-Pro committee. I’ll be working alongside Herbie, our Chair, and the rest of our amazing committee members to grow our community and promote events even more across the coming year.

I believe that networking among young professionals is an invaluable skill and I’m honoured to be part of a platform that supports networking in Greater Manchester. My involvement in future-pro so far has been really rewarding, with a standout moment being when I hosted my first event in April this year, so I’m excited to take on a more influential role.

The range of events we host is incredible – from socials to panel discussions, even fitness events. Future-Pro has been invaluable for me in the early stages of my career, so I hope it can be just as beneficial for others too.”

Keep an eye out on future-pro’s event calendar as we have lots of exciting events coming up across the next 12 months, including The Made in Manchester Awards.
