About the Speakers:

Andy Nichols Senior Loan Manager - GC Business Finance

A senior finance professional with wide experience within the financial services industry, Andy worked for HSBC for 29 years in their commercial, corporate and invoice finance divisions. Since then, Andy has worked for independent financial institutions, a specialist trade finance bank and has also run his own company. This has given him an excellent understanding of the financial needs and requirements of businesses. Andy has worked for GC Business Finance since 2014 providing finance to businesses that have been unable to secure the funds they need from their Bank.

Belinda Yu Founder - Wicker Wings

Wicker Wings started as a brother and sister duo, Belinda and James, who after finding out their Māma (Grandma) hand wove baskets in her village in China in hope for a better life. Fast forward 60 years and this is still the case in rural parts of Asia today.

Wicker Wings was created to shine light on their grandmother’s past and support the current generation of these incredible female artisans, through creating timeless fashion pieces and through what they call Mama’s Mission.

Proven track record in accessing different sources of finance and investment across a wide portfolio of financial projects at all levels of complexity. Specialties: Primary focus is the support of NW based SMEs access appropriate funding sources from either private or public sector.

Jessica Grocutt Enterprise Acceleration Manager - NatWest

Jess manages NatWest’s Entrepreneur Accelerator in Manchester, a funded programme that empowers UK entrepreneurs to grow their business to the next level. Jess has supported a number of founders through their investment journey, from supporting them to develop their pitch decks to a high standard to connecting them with key partners within the eco-system. As an advocate for inclusive entrepreneurship, Jess is involved with a number of initiatives designed to build the confidence of diverse founders to drive their business forward, including the TiE UK North Women’s Advisory Board and more recently, Meta’s She Means Business programme.
