Our speaker for this event is Azeem Amir, an individual who has triumphed over life's obstacles. Azeem, who has been visually impaired since birth, has never let it be a barrier to success. He plays Blind Football professionally for the England blind football team and is working towards achieving international success, with the team currently in preparation for qualification to the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
Beyond his achievements on the football field, Azeem's fearless spirit has led him to become a global ambassador for brands such as Nike and Santander, leading on impactful campaigns. He has also dedicated himself as an ambassador for several disability awareness charities and organisations and through public speaking engagements, including inspiring TED Talks, coaching, and workshops, Azeem aims to empower as many young people as possible to achieve their own versions of success.
In this fireside chat with Azeem Amir, the audience will learn about the struggles he encountered as a blind athlete aspiring to play professional football, the scepticism and doubt he faced from others, and the personal battles he fought to prove that limitations are mere illusions. About the Speakers:
Azeem Amir is 24 and has been visually impaired since birth. However, he has never let it be a barrier to success. Azeem plays Blind Football professionally for the England blind football team and is working towards achieving international success. The team is currently in preparation for qualification to the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. He has headed global campaigns for brands including Nike and Santander amongst others. Azeem is now an ambassador for several disability awareness charities and organisations and through public speaking (TedTalks), coaching and workshops aims to inspire as many young people as possible to achieve their own version of success. He has just completed a Master’s Degree is Sport’s Management and has now stepped into the world of Enterprise, launching his own nationwide organisation and charitable foundation called Learn With ESS which aims to educate schools, sports clubs and businesses about disability awareness through a unique scheme of work!
