Member Spotlight: Patrick Wetzels, Owner – Kwik Consulting/Innovation Doorway

1. Introduce yourself

I am Patrick, a 46 year old Dutch honorary Mancunian. I am a proud dad with a passion for Finance, Pearl Jam, Roda JC Kerkrade and the Chicago Bears. I also appear regularly on BBC5 Live as ‘This Charming Van’ during the World Football Phone In show.

2. Career highlight

SPX Corporation. Working at SPX has provided me so much opportunity, but the absolute highlight was to have a leading role in the largest acquisition in their company history which meant moving from my Dutch hometown to the UK.

Manchester Airport: I have been allowed to setup an ERP system and develop financial processes and and procedures for their US based business. It has taken me to downtown Chicago a lot which has been a really cool experience.

Energetic, empathetic and ambitious

4. What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

I am all about the power of the network and that is what Pro-Manchester embodies. Due to some personal life changes I haven’t been much in the picture, but I am really looking forward to be connecting in the Greater Manchester area via pro-manchester again soon!

5. What are your priorities for 2024?

(Re)build and expand my local network so to be able to add value to the Greater Manchester (business) community

6. What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

It is great to see Manchester take more and more of the centre stage in the UK economy. Also I am very proud to see how Mancunians stood up against racism. It made me proud to live in this amazing city.

7. Favourite meeting place in Manchester

Briton’s Protection. I love everything about it. The age, the decor, the fireplace.

8. Are their any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

I am always interested in meeting scale ups businesses in need of Finance leadership and financial insights.
