TV personality and entrepreneur Calum Best and British model and actor Paul Sculfor are the latest celebrities to be joining wellbeing and addiction company Steps Together Group at their inaugural SHINE (Steps Heroes IN Excellence) Awards.
The awards, set to be the first ever corporate alcohol-free awards ceremony in the UK will be held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on September 11th, 2024. Raising vital funds for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA), of which Callum is a Patron, the event will celebrate the achievements of Steps Together’s dedicated teams.
Steps Together provides both Residential and Outpatient Treatment Programmes to individuals, families, sports personalities, business leaders and employees battling addiction.
Partnered with Claritee Group and Nacoa, Steps Together decided to host its very first Staff Award ceremony to celebrate seven years of Steps Together, and the second anniversary of its newest Country Retreat, Rainford Hall in Merseyside https://rainfordhall.com/
The SHINE Awards will recognise the hard work and dedication of Steps Together Group employees across 13 special categories. The evening will be a vibrant celebration, featuring alcohol-free drinks, live music, celebrity guests, and engaging games, promising a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
Calum Best: TV personality, entrepreneur and Patron of NACOA
“As a patron of NACOA I am so excited to be invited to this event that will recognise the hard work of those making a difference at Steps Together. If I’d known there was someone I could talk to or even someone to listen it would have helped me understand and cope with my dad’s illness. These people really are making a difference to the lives of people living with alcoholism.”
Renowned model and actor Paul Sculfor will be presenting an award to one of the winners and will be taking part in the evening’s festivities to celebrate with community members in recovery.
Paul’s commitment to recovery is exemplified through his charity, the Stride Foundation and Steps Together are proud to support this incredible organisation and believe this collaboration will have a positive impact on the recovery community.
Paul Sculfor: Model, actor and founder of Stride Foundation
“I am proud to be attending the Shine Awards, because it’s a way of recognising the people and the community around us that support those striving to overcome alcoholism. Addiction causes separation from family, friends, community and ultimately yourself which is why it’s important to reach out for support from those that can help you to be yourself again, to be loved by others and to love. Someone with addiction can easily fall down that route again, which is why community is so important, providing support and understanding.”
Darren Rolfe: Founder and CEO of Steps Together
“We are delighted that Calum and Paul will be joining us to celebrate our employees and to promote a safe and inclusive environment. It’s going to be a fantastic night, full of memories and a real opportunity to hear about the difference our people are making.
“The SHINE Awards are not just about celebrating success; they are also about giving back to the community. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to NACOA, a national charity dedicated to supporting children affected by parental alcoholism.”
Alex Clapp : Founder of Claritee Group Ltd
“Supporting Steps Together by helping to host the first alcohol-free corporate awards night in the UK is so important to me. As a recovering alcoholic and entrepreneur who has attended many awards ceremonies, I know the pressure to have a drink at a works event. I believe we’re changing as a society. More people are making the decision not to drink, either on a one-off occasion at a work’s do, or as a part of a lifestyle change. I’m so proud to be at the forefront of this evolution that will lead to more and more alcohol-free corporate events in the future as workplaces join the on-going cultural shift around alcohol consumption.
“I’d encourage any businesses who are curious about taking the next step to hosting an alcohol-free work event to support Steps Together by buying a table or sponsoring the event and trying it out for themselves.
“I always receive feedback at our events from people who say that they have had more fun than they could ever have imagined, without the horror of a hangover in the morning.
“The work done by Steps Together is truly life-changing and we can’t wait to celebrate their amazing team on the night, as well as enjoying each other’s company and having fun, all while happily sober.”
