UHY Hacker Young Leaders Achieve in Ultra-triathlon for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital

On 11 May, UHY Manchester’s Chief Executive Officer, David Kendrick and Corporate Finance Partner, Peter Williams, completed the ROC Challenge to raise funds for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, surpassing their target by raising over £22,000. The hospital, known for its exceptional patient care, has significantly impacted families across the North West, including several colleagues at the Manchester firm. These funds will support vital projects and provide state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring the continued provision of top-quality medical care.

The ROC Challenge, held throughout the year, includes a 1.5km swim in Abersoch’s bay, a 49.5km bike ride, followed by a 12km hike up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, a return 49.5km bike ride and concludes with a 1km run along Abersoch beach.

David Kendrick, Chief Executive Officer commented, “Well that was some challenge and never again! By far the hardest thing I have ever done and it’s a proud moment to be able to raise so much money for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital – a facility that supports so many families in the North West – that’s what makes it all worthwhile.”

Peter Williams, Corporate Finance Partner said, “We are delighted to have played a part in the ongoing fundraising efforts for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The amount of money raised by our family, friends, clients, and colleagues has been incredible and it really spurred us both on when we needed to dig deep on the mountain!”

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is the largest and busiest children’s hospital in the UK, committed to improving their patients’ lives and dedicated to looking into the future through leading children’s clinical research.

Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, who support the hospital, is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK and are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford. Any donations they receive are invested into cutting-edge equipment, medical research and creating a welcoming environment for patients.
