1. Introduce yourself

Hi! I am Kirsten and I am a Talent, learning & Culture Specialist at Thales UK. I would describe my role as supporting the attraction, recruitment, development and retention of our people. I have a keen interest in supporting & nurturing minority groups to succeed within our business and providing the right culture so that everyone can thrive. I am a huge advocate for equal opportunities and addressing biases in our systems and processes. I am studying for a Coaching Diploma, which I want to use to support individuals reach their full potential.

2. Career highlight

My career highlight would be in 2020 during COVID, I remodelled our Talent Acquisition Service using agile principles and it transformed the way in which we operated and delivered our hiring commitments! We became faster, happier, more connected as a Team and with our Customers and filled over 1,500 vacancies in a year – during COVID.

3. Name three words that describe your personality

Vibrant, Enthusiastic & Positive

4. What’s the best thing about pro-manchester

The Connectivity and Learning it brings! I always come away from the events feeling better-connected, better-informed and engaged to take some things back in to my business. The people that run the business are pretty amazing (Sam paid me to say thatJ)

5. What are your priorities for 2024

· Working with new learning & culture suppliers to help achieve our goals

· Continuing with my studies and coaching and mentoring as many people as I can fit in the year

· Looking at innovative ways to reach different groups of talent and provide the support they need to be successful

· More time to Volunteering. Thales offer all our employees 24 hours paid volunteering. It is a brilliant way to learn new skills, make connections and give back, so I am on a mission to get more people on the volunteering bandwagon!

6. Favourite meeting place in Manchester

I love the Midland for a business meeting; you can always find a quiet spot for a coffee and a natter. If you had asked me favourite place to eat, I would probably be here all day!

7. Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet:

I am interested in connecting with those suppliers who support cultural development, team effectiveness, and learning and talent initiatives.
