Walking, wheeling or cycling – what’s stopping Greater Manchester?

28th April 2023, 4:14 pm

If you want to be part of shaping the future of active travel in Greater Manchester, it’s your chance, as the Big Active Conversation continues in Tameside on Monday 5 June.

Six months on from Active Travel Commissioner, Dame Sarah Storey, unveiling a refreshed active travel mission for Greater Manchester, and taking place between the end of National Walking Month – in May – and the start of the 100th annual Bike Week, this session will provide an opportunity to collectively reflect on progress to date and how we can continue to work together to deliver.

Dame Sarah Storey will be joined on the day by Transport Commissioner, Vernon Everitt, along with representatives from the Greater Manchester’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE), business and active travel communities.

To join us on 5th June, please sign up on our dedicated Eventbrite page. We encourage you to book your FREE tickets as early as possible due to limited availability. Please note that tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The Big Active Conversation is a space that welcomes views and open discussion from all communities across Greater Manchester. Please feel free to share this invitation with any of your networks, contacts or members who may be interested in participating.

If you have any questions regarding the upcoming event, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected]. To learn more about what took place at last year’s Big Active Conversation, read the summary report here.
