A new Degree Apprenticeship in construction site management launched this September, and is already proving popular with students and industry.

There is a huge need for professionals with the correct technical skills, who have the ability to problem solve and can apply practice and theory to a given situation – the apprenticeship fosters these skills, mixing education and industrial practice.

The Construction Site Management programme starts at level 5 over a period of 3 years. Students who are currently employed and have completed the BSC Construction Project Management level 4 or the University of Salford’s HNC are eligible to transfer across on to the level 5 DA.

Students at the University undertake 12 modules over a period of 3 years alongside those students currently completing the BSc Construction Project Management. On completion of the BSc, the DA students will work towards the End Point Assessment to become a chartered professional in approximately 6 months.

Individuals in this profession are very needed and highly sought after with a substantial gap of workers in the industry. The University is currently working with Lendlease Construction (Europe) Limited, Rowlinson, Constructions Ltd, Overbury Plc, and Laing O’Rourke for this apprenticeship.

Open days run throughout the year, where prospective students can have a tour of the Energy House projects and hear and learn about opportunities in this field.

The degree apprenticeship runs alongside the BSc Construction Project Management degree.

The next intake for this apprenticeship is September 2023 with applications open until Friday 28th July.
