MiMA: How to Write the Perfect Entry
Tuesday, 27th September 2022Nominations are already flooding in for The Made in Manchester Awards 2023.
Our judges will definitely have their hands full trying narrow it down to the shortlisted few!
Make their job easier and increase your chances by setting yourself apart from the competition with a truly compelling entry!!
Here are pro-manchester’s top tips for completing your MiMA entry…
- Stay on point: Concentrate on what your good at and how you excel at your job, by keeping it short, sweet and direct you’ll keep the judges interested. Consider using bullet points, at least as a starting point and build out from there. Remember that sometimes less is sometimes more!
- Don’t be embarrassed: Don’t be too shy to sell yourself and big yourself up. This is your chance to be recognised for all your hard work, so tell us about all the great things you have achieved in your role.
- Use examples: Using examples of going above and beyond your specific project is the easiest way to prove to the judges that you’re delivering results and making a difference.
- Supporting evidence: Including facts and figures to demonstrate when you have overachieved on projects or smashed targets, can validate and strengthen your entry.
- Use your colleagues: If anyone can back up your claim of excelling in your profession it’s the people you work alongside every day! You may think you’ve ticked every box, but they may have some additions to strengthen your entry.
- Stick to the rules: This one is obvious but just a reminder:
- All entrants must be 35 or under on November 11th 2022 to qualify for MIMA
- Stick to the 250-word count per question, anything after the first 250 words won’t count.
- Make sure you return your completed form before the deadline of 18th November 2022
- Proof-read: Just how Santa Claus makes his list and checks it twice so should you …The quickest way to blow your chances of success is bad spelling, lazy grammar, and poor punctuation.
