Clarke Willmott advises on sale of Ascott Analytical Equipment

Clarke Willmott has advised on the sale of corrosion testing specialist, Tamworth, Staffordshire-based Ascott Analytical Equipment Limited to a major German manufacturer of complementary products.

The law firm acted on behalf of sellers Varium Limited, represented by majority shareholder Chris Gates and the management team.

Ascott specialises in the production and sale of corrosion testing equipment that is used to test equipment in the airline and automotive industry.

The Purchaser is the world’s largest manufacturer of environmental testing equipment.

“Growing this company was at the heart of this transaction,” said Clarke Willmott corporate partner, Kim Klahn, who is based at the firm’s Birmingham office.

“All of the sellers will continue to be involved with Ascott Analytical Equipment and work with the new owners to take the company into its next phase of growth.

“There are very exciting times ahead for this company.”

Ascott, which was established 30 years ago, and is based on the Lichfield Industrial Estate in Tamworth, exports to 100 countries around the world.

“Both Kim and solicitor Raksha Aggarwal went above and beyond to get this deal over the line and completely understood our objective,” said Chris Gates.

All worldwide offices and jobs will be retained following the acquisition.
