The International AR & VR Conference

The International AR & VR Conference is an annual immersive tech event of the International Association of Immersive Technology Innovation (IAITI) and it aims to bring industry and academia together in order to discuss, present and show case latest trends in the immersive technology arena.

The deadline for extended abstract submission is 31 August for the 7th International AR & VR Conference (Theme: XR in Times of ​Crisis) which will now take place on the 13th and 14th December 2021 (Online). ​

This year’s conference will have a strong focus on different workshops for industry and academia (e.g. Writing for special issues/academic publications; How to connect academia & industry?).

We are inviting 2 types of abstract (scientific track and industry track) submission for the 2021 Conference.  

Scientific Track 

All abstract submissions must be in English and submitted as a word file. The document file should not contain information that unnecessarily identifies the authors, their institutions, or their places of work. Extended abstract length: max. 3 pages (excl. references). Suggested structure is 1. Introduction, 2. Literature Review, 3 Methodology, 4. Findings, 5 Conclusion. All accepted papers are expected to be presented during the conference. Papers are invited to be expanded into a book chapter to be published by Springer post-conference. Selected paper will be invites to be published in one of the special issues associated with the conference (TBC).

Industry Track 

All paper submissions must be in English and submitted as a word file. The document file should not contain information that unnecessarily identifies the authors, their institutions, or their places of work. Extended abstract length: max. 3 pages (excl. references). Suggested structure is 1. Company Description, 2. Project Summary, 3 Project Details, 4. Feedback from End Users, 5 Future Outlook, 6 Conclusion. All accepted papers are expected to be presented during the conference. Papers are invited to be expanded into a book chapter to be published by Springer post-conference.

There are no strict formatting requirements. Papers should be structured and (if possible) include introduction, methods/approach, findings/discussion and conclusion. Please submit a blind copy for the review process. 

All abstracts must be submitted via Easy Chair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iarvr21. Easy Chair will remain open for new abstract submissions until 31st August 2021. Notification of acceptance/rejection for submissions will be communicated on 30th October 2021. 

Authors of accepted papers will be expected to attend the virtual conference and make a 5 minutes LIVE oral presentation.
