Call for beta testers ahead of launch of market-disruptive parenting app

The children’s learning and education space is set for market disruption with the upcoming launch of a new digital venture founded by Jennie Johnson MBE and Alistair Bryce-Clegg.

My First Five Years is an exciting new concept that meets a gap in the market for personalised parenting guidance in the formative years of a child’s life.

Expectant parents and parents of 0-3 year old children can now apply for early access to the parenting app with the pre-release version and be the first to try the concept. The testing group will help to shape the final version and in return will receive a 12 months free subscription when it launches.

The app is currently in design and development with Manchester-based agency Apadmi; specialists in creating best-in-class, fully-compliant digital technology and experiences for people on the move.

Jennie commented: “We want to see parents enjoy parenting more, and every part of the My First Five Years app will be designed with that in mind. Alastair and I have over 25 years’ experience of supporting and helping parents, and we know first hand the difference an app like this will make to their lives. For busy parents who are always on the go, an app that offers support in your hand is a very exciting concept.

“We approached Apadmi as we knew we wanted to create a best-in-class solution and the Apadmi team gave us the confidence they could deliver from the very first engagement.

“We first embarked on a discovery phase, which was invaluable to us to take our idea and take us to the “eureka moment” where we had the belief that our ideas could be distilled into an app. Going through this process with Apadmi allowed us to take our very high level ideas and streamline them into a much more refined brief, working out the priorities for phase one of the app and making those parts the best they can be.

“All of our strategy work and our workshops had to be held over video calls, which was a new way of working for us but hasn’t limited creativity.

Apadmi’s people are sharp, passionate, talented in their field and importantly, they share our vision for the app as they helped us define and develop our thinking. With Apadmi as our digital partner challenged with turning those ideas into reality, we are confident the app will be best-in-class.”

Howard Simms, Apadmi Co-founder said: “When I first met Jennie and heard the idea for the app experience, I was already excited – but being part of the strategy process and bringing the idea to life has been a fantastic experience. As a parent myself I fully believe in the potential for My First Five Years, and I’m so proud that Apadmi will be the partner to support the team on this journey to launch.”
