EXCLUSIVE WORKSPACE ROOF TERRACE TO LAUNCH AS BRUNTWOOD WORKS TRANSFORMS LANCASTRIAN
9th June 2021, 7:31 am
- Old Trafford’s only workspace roof terrace and garden to be unveiled
- Project to create a space that will support the ambitions of businesses, with a focus on social interaction, community and wellness
- Transformation comes as Trafford continues to grow in strength as an alternative destination to city centres, with cafes, shopping parks, cycle routes and nearby tourist attractions
Bruntwood Works, a leading workspace and leisure provider, has kickstarted the transformation of Lancastrian in Old Trafford as it aims to enhance collaboration and work-life balance for its customers.
The project will transform the open-air roof terrace, providing an extensive, leafy space to accommodate social events and support collaboration, with beautiful views across the Lancashire Cricket County Club. It will also introduce an indoor lounge space designed to strengthen the sense of community for businesses located there. The lounge will include a workspace, informal meeting booths and refreshment station, and will open out onto the roof terrace. The transformation will also provide improved shower and bathroom facilities to help customers to fit exercise into their working day.
It follows increased demand from businesses for local offices, alongside their city centre workspaces, with more companies seeking a hub and spoke solution that incorporates a city centre HQ and a geographically distributed network of offices in the surrounding suburbs. This is alongside increased demand from businesses for workspaces with good transport links and close proximity to local amenities.
Andrew Cooke, strategic director of Bruntwood Works, said: “It’s our mission to create workspaces that meet the needs of customers and their employees, both now and in the future. Inspiring, innovative spaces that can bring people back together again and promote a sense of community are top of business’ wish lists now more than ever. The impressive new roof terrace and lounge at Lancastrian will put connection at the heart of the working day, and will be the perfect backdrop for events and collaboration, right in time for the return to the office this summer.
“Flexibility is also a high priority, and many of the businesses we’re speaking to are looking to implement a ‘hub and spoke’ solution which helps to reduce commuting time, boost local economies and enhance work-life balance for their employees. With its fantastic transport links, connectivity and close proximity to the surrounding suburbs, Lancastrian is the perfect destination for those businesses looking to bring their workspace closer to home.”
The building overlooks the Lancashire County Cricket Club, with its four distinct wings named after local cricketing legends Washbrook, Duckworth, MacLaren and Statham.
Alongside high-speed internet, Lancastrian provides businesses with high-quality, flexible workspaces that are within easy reach of Manchester city centre and the surrounding suburbs by car and public transport links, with Old Trafford Metrolink station right around the corner.
It is already home to a broad range of companies, including those in the charity, education, social housing and financial services sectors. Workspaces at Lancastrian are suitable for businesses of any size, from small businesses to large enterprises, that want the flexibility of planning and managing their own office. All leased workspaces are available as a Made & Managed solution, which allows customers to build a bespoke package of services including utilities, furniture and cleaning for a simple monthly fee.
The news is the latest investment in the area, after Bruntwood Works completed the next phase of its transformation of Trafford House in December. Here, Bruntwood Works’ customers at Trafford House and Lancastrian have access to a state-of-the-art gym studio with virtual classes from the world-renowned Les Mills, cycle storage, shower and changing facilities.
It also follows the announcement that Bruntwood Works and Trafford Council are set to transform the former Kellogg’s site in Old Trafford, Stretford, into a vibrant new neighbourhood – Lumina Village – as part of their joint venture, which also includes the development of the Stamford Quarter in Altrincham as well as Stretford Mall.
Completion is due in summer 2021.
