Appleyard Lees share highs and lows of the virtual ‘courtroom’ experience at the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court

Over the past few months leading intellectual property firm Appleyard Lees have litigated an unprecedented number of trials, held in an equally unprecedented virtual format, in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC).

Following this, Appleyard Lees have put together a useful guide outlining their experience and learnings of this new virtual format. This includes guidance regarding pre-trial preparation (bundles), paying particular attention to page numbering, making PDFs searchable, page orientation and bookmarks; virtual ‘courtroom’ etiquette; witness cross-examination do’s and don’ts; and final practice notes.

This guide will be helpful for other attorneys, solicitors and litigants with upcoming trials at the IPEC which, for the foreseeable future, will be held virtually.
