GM Green Summit 2020– Taking Action: Today, Tomorrow and Together.

The 3rd annual Greater Manchester Green Summit will take place this September to discuss how we can build a greener and more sustainable Greater Manchester. This year the Summit will be a virtual event, taking place from 21st– 24th September 2020.
The Summit will be co-hosted by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, with the Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority, to enable young people to discuss and challenge the issues that matter to them to work towards Greater Manchester Going Greener.
The Summit will debate the 6 environmental themes outlined in Our Greater Manchester five year environment plan (March 2019). The plan sets out our long term vision to be carbon neutral by 2038 and details what we need to do now and in the future to achieve this.
Each day of the summit will highlight one of the Greater Manchester environment plan themes and feature a workshops delivered by the Youth Combined Authority.

Our GM Green Summit 2020 Objectives
- To provide an update on progress made against each theme in the 5 year environment plan.
- To demonstrate how Greater Manchester is Doing Things Differently by encouraging action, innovation and investment today, to accelerate change and achieve impact tomorrow.
- To engage national and international audiences in how Greater Manchester is going greener.
- Communicating and engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders is critical in supporting the successful delivery of the five year Environment Plan.
