Philip Shaw: Phillip heads up Investec’s London economics team which advises on economic and market trends to a wide range of clients. Philip was a government economist for two years after he left university, before joining Barclays. Prior to joining Investec, Philip was Chief Economist at Union Discount for four years. He has an economics degree from Bath University and a master’s in econometrics from the University of Manchester.
Tanya Dos Santos: Tanya has been with the Investec Group for almost 19 years predominantly in the group strategy role supporting the group executive in setting, monitoring and communicating their strategic objectives. In 2011, she assumed the Group Sustainability role, which involves consolidating and reporting the non-financial position of the group.
Tanya’s team is responsible for compiling and communicating our Corporate Sustainability information, including the impact that Investec has on the economy, our people, society and the environment. Tanya also heads up the Investec Rhino Lifeline programme, working with carefully selected partners and leveraging the strong Investec brand to raise awareness and much needed funds for the rescue and care of orphaned rhino, as well as conservation education and the uplifting of rural communities. Tanya is currently participating in the working groups supporting the UN Secretary General’s CEO Alliance of Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD), addressing the challenge of financing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Tanya has a Masters in Economics Cum Laude and alumni status from Harvard Business school after completing several leadership qualifications at Harvard through the Investec leadership programme. She sits on the board of a small private business called Inyati Game Lodge, which is active in promoting conservation activities and empowering communities. In addition to rural education and contributing to the wildlife economy, Tanya is also passionate about human rights and sits on the board of the United Nations Global Compact local network in South Africa.
