Colliers International launches week of virtual activities and seminars for Mental Health Awareness Week

Colliers International is marking Mental Health Awareness Week with a series of virtual events, webinars and workshops to encourage conversation and reduce negative stigma around mental health.
Lydia Ings, HR Director at Colliers International, commented: “This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is more important than ever given the unusual circumstances we are all in. I often say that it is the whole person comes to work, no one leaves what is going on in their personal lives at the door. Right now it couldn’t be more true as we all meet with each other in our living rooms, bedrooms, gardens, with our family and even pets passing through. By encouraging the whole person to come to work, we will ensure we can support the whole person, financially, physically and mentally.”
Sessions that will be run throughout the week include a talk with Sir Peter Wall, former Chief of the General Staff of the British Army; a discussion with Charlie Hoare, author of ‘Man Down: A Guide for Men on Mental Health’; virtual yoga and a ‘Pets of Colliers’ video call.
According to the Mental Health Foundation, as many as 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives. Colliers International is on a journey when it comes to tackling mental health issues amongst its employees. In 2019, the business started to talk about mental health at all levels; a significant cultural and behavioural change for the business.
