Manchester commercial law firm Kuits has advised domain and web hosting service provider FreeParking Domain Registrars Inc., on its sale to Namesco Limited.
Following the sale, FreeParking will continue to manage over 300,000 domain names and websites for its customers in over 120 countries.
The acquisition by Namesco, one of the UK’s largest domain name and web hosting providers, will allow the firm to expand its reach as a key European brand of parent company team.blue.
The deal will see the transfer of FreeParking’s domain and hosting to Namesco Limited, a business that has been supporting customers since 1996, with UK-based data centres and a customer support team based in Worcester.
James Wall, Kuits commercial partner, provided a comprehensive advisory service on the sale.
Wall commented: “Using our sector expertise in technology and our experience of sale processes we were able to deal with this transaction in a collaborative and pragmatic way to meet all parties’ objectives. We wish Paul and also the Namesco team well for the future.”
Paul Lomax, founder of FreeParking Domain Registrars Inc., said: “Having grown the FreeParking business into being one of the largest independent registrars of UK domains, it was a natural step for the team at Namesco to take it forward within its group. Following the completion of this transaction I’m confident for the future direction and growth of the FreeParking business, while maintaining a strong focus on client service.
“It was important to all parties that the deal was managed in an efficient and timely way, ensuring a seamless transition for our valued customers as the business moves into its next chapter and I was grateful for the support we received from Kuits to achieve this.”
Foot Anstey acted as legal advisors to Namesco, led by senior associate Charlotte Hugo.
