Thursday 2nd April, 15.00-15.30
Join us on April 2nd at 3pm via Zoom https://zoom.us/j/809500140 for a series of short briefings. We’ll be demystifying the Government’s financial updates related to Coronavirus, answering some of your questions, outlining the options currently available to you, and discussing some of the possible developments over the coming weeks.
Our three experts, Professor Julia Rouse, Professor Mark Jarvis, and Stuart Finnerty will share their understanding of the policy briefings to enhance clarity for businesses large and small navigating these uncertain times.
We’ve already received lots of questions in advance of the briefings and will cover as much as possible during these bitesize sessions. You can expect answers to some of the following questions…
From SME’s/start-ups/self-employed
- I’m an owner/director and don’t seem to fall into any of the categories for assistance – what can I do?
- I have a start-up established after April 2019, what are my options?
- I’m self-employed but don’t have 3 years of returns – what can I do?
- As a director, I’m paid via PAYE and dividends – am I eligible for any support?
- Would claiming Universal Credit in the short term stop me from being eligible for grants/other support schemes?
- What are the possible changes to SME support in the future?
About the Business Interruption Loan (CBILs) and grants
- How does the loan scheme work – what criteria will they use for approval?
- Is there a personal guarantee requirement?
- Can the loan scheme cover staff wages until the furlough scheme is live?
- What grants are available?
- Can you explain what the announcements in areas such as VAT, income tax, and business rates mean to me?
Horizon scanning
- What is the likely impact on GDP and Consumer Spending?
- What are the likely impacts on Inflation and Interest rates?
- What is the expected appetite for investment?
