Our AGM is fast-approaching, which means you – our members – have your say on who takes up the hot seats around our board table for the coming year.
It’s not just the Conservative leadership battle that’s set to sweep the nation by storm, as two places have become available on the pro-manchester board. We’re awaiting Kay Burley’s team standing outside live from pro-manchester HQ any day now.
As a not-for-profit organisation owned by our members, our board is made up solely of individuals from our members businesses.
For all pro-manchester non-executive directors (NEDs), there is a fixed term of six years. Each year, a third of our NEDs stand down for re-election based on the length of time they have sat on the board. More often than not, three of our members step down and are re-elected by our members. With the recent resignations of both Jane Forbes – PwC and Mark Hovell – Mills & Reeve due to work commitments, this year we have two spaces available on the board, as well as Julia Clarke’s re-election after three years with us.
We’re delighted to be able to give our members this exciting opportunity to be part of the decision making and develop their network in the process.
Our non-executive Board of Directors is made up of senior individuals from within our membership. Together they increase pro-manchester’s professional excellence through knowledge sharing, creating partnerships and staying ahead of the ever-changing business environment.
Our board is currently made up of:
- Sam Booth, Chief Executive – pro-manchester
- Nicola McCormick, COO – pro-manchester
- Isabel Riley (secretary), Finance Director – pro-manchester
- Alistair Cree (chair), Eversheds Sutherland
- Jenn Hazelhurst (vice-chair), EY
- Julia Clarke, MMU
- Alison Loveday, Kennedys
- Daniel Nolan, theEword
- Robert Race, WH Ireland
- Jason Trigg, HSBC
If you would like to put yourself or a colleague forward for our upcoming elections, please email our company secretary, Isabel Riley on [email protected].
The AGM takes place before our upcoming AGM Lunch on Thursday 18th July. Nominated members are asked to join us to help shape the new pro-manchester board and are then welcome to join us with their colleagues for a two-course lunch at The Lowry Hotel. Click here for more information.
